If you follow me on instagram you'll know that I recently spent time in Copenhagen with my other half. We had a brilliant time and it was great to take a break away from the routine of life - which has been especially busy these last few months. Earlier this year we visited Stockholm (also for the first time), Copenhagen has it's merits but we couldn't help compare the two cities and we concluded that Stockholm has the X Factor. Copenhagen just didn't have the heart and soul we were expecting....

Regular readers will know that when I'm in need of inspiration I like to grab my camera and take a walk. Nowhere spectacular, in fact it can be the places we take for granted that can deliver a whole new aesthetic when seen through a lens. Beauty in the bland, symmetry in the somber, joy in the joyless.

You know I'm partial to the odd (or even) number and I'm anyone's for a letter (or a tin of salmon), but true addicts will try anything once and I have been known to get high with pattern from time to time. I don't know what it is about doors or entrances in general but I am strangely drawn to them. Even the most unassuming have a certain magic. I get such pleasure from photographing them wherever I am. This selection (and I could have posted so many more) were all discovered whilst in London, Stockholm and France. Can you tell which were taken where? And in case you were wondering the door to my soul is very simple and made of oak.
